through our CASH NOT CANS Campaign six times a year ~ 
February, April, June, August, October, and November.
With donations from National Village, the Food Bank
can leverage the money to purchase more food and 
feed more families in need of food assistance.
You can help by donating to our bi-monthly 
CA$H NOT CANS Campaigns in the following ways:

SCHOLARSHIP

Paying It Forward . . .   
by supporting female leaders  
of the next generation  

 In 2018 the generous women of NVLC began a legacy of giving for young 
women in our local community to achieve their educational dreams. The 
first scholarship was awarded in 2019, and each year since, we have grown 
our giving with fundraisers and direct donations. To date, our little village 
has provided scholarships totaling $34,500, impacting 11 amazing and 
worthy young ladies right here in Opelika.

In partnership with East Alabama Community Foundation (EACF), 
an affiliate of Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF), 
the funding of future scholarships will be accomplished through
an annual Scholarship Appeal Campaign 
for tax-deductible donations and giving. 

To ensure our legacy continues, our annual goal is $10,000, and although 
contributions can be made anytime throughout the year, 
our Scholarship Appeal Campaign officially runs 
August through December each year. With 170+ members and 
several ways of tax-deductible giving 
(one-time gifts, recurring gifts, Qualified Charitable IRA Distributions, 
and gifts in honor of/in memory of someone special) 
we know we can meet our current and future Scholarship Appeal Campaign 
goals ~ it truly takes a village, but we know we have the best village 
right here in National Village!

The NVLC, INC Board of Directors, Finance Committee Members, and 
Scholarship Advisory Committee Members are passionate about our 
NVLC Scholarship and with this passion, each of us has made a 
generous commitment to participate in the Scholarship Appeal.
